"D" is for DSHKA Slap

During many of my FID (Foreign internal defense)adventures without fail there were inevitably members of our partner force that would display striking character traits and mannerisms identical to cartoon characters from my youth.

Kicking off our #fidlife series is one such Afghan named Hafiz. He was short and fat, he had a huge black beard that would have made the prophet Mohammed proud (peace be upon him). Ol' Hafiz had an insatiable penchant for Persian tea cookies, he would fill the cargo pockets of his woodland BDUs and could be found behind his DSHKA in the Hilux jamming cookies by the fist full into his mouth. This left enough crumbs in that beard to make a separate meal. Hence he was dubbed.."Cookie Monster".
